NKV is committed to radical transparency in how we produce, fund, and label our content. Readers deserve to understand what they are reading, who wrote it, and whether any commercial relationship exists. This page explains our content labeling system and funding model.
Content Labels
Every piece of content on NKV carries a label indicating its type:
- News — Original reporting based on verified sources and direct research
- Analysis — Journalist-authored interpretation of events or findings, grounded in evidence
- Opinion — Views of a named contributor; does not represent NKV’s institutional position
- Sponsored — Paid content; produced by or with a commercial partner; clearly separated from editorial
- Corrected — Content that has been updated to correct a factual error, with a correction notice attached
Funding & Revenue
NKV is funded through a combination of display advertising, sponsored content partnerships, reader subscriptions, and institutional grants for science journalism. We disclose all significant funding relationships on this page and update it quarterly.
NKV does not accept funding from entities with a direct commercial interest in archaeological site development, artifact sales, or heritage policy outcomes without full public disclosure.
Author Credentials
All NKV articles carry a byline with the author’s name. Author bio pages disclose relevant professional background, institutional affiliations, and any potential conflicts of interest. Guest contributors from academic institutions or archaeological organizations disclose their affiliation at the point of publication.
Use of AI Tools
NKV may use AI-assisted tools for tasks such as transcription, translation, image captioning, and research assistance. All AI-assisted content is reviewed, edited, and approved by a human journalist or editor before publication. NKV does not publish AI-generated journalism without human authorship and editorial accountability.
Corrections Transparency
All corrections are publicly logged in our Corrections Archive at nkvarchaeology.com/corrections. We do not silently edit published content. See our full Corrections & Updates Policy for details.
